What is Google Adwords? A advertising platform that allows businesses to display ads on Google and its advertising partner network. But that doesn’t begin to cover it. Within this there are different types of ad campaign (such as Text, Shopping, Video and Remarketing) targeting different audiences using different strategies and different bidding options.
Who can use it? Anyone wanting to improve their online visibility, either to produce direct sales/enquiries or for brand awareness.
Will it work for my business? Every business is different, even if two businesses sell the same product at the same price, their websites and other factors will be different. So what works for one business will not necessarily work for another and vice versa. The only way to find out is to carry out a small test campaign and measure the results.
Why can’t I just do this myself? To create an Adwords campaign seems fairly simple, but there are a huge number of options and factors to consider that you will not be aware of from following simple set up guidelines. We’ve been working on Adwords for over 15 years and are still learning new things, because Adwords is continually changing. Unless you have a spare 30+ hours initially and several hours per month just to keep up with changes, let alone implement them and manage your campaign, then trying to do it yourself is false economy.
How much does Adwords cost? You can set fixed budgets. So whilst it may be impossible to guess from the outset what you’could’ spend you can cap what you ‘will’ spend to suit your available budget. Then if it is working you can decide to spend more.
