What are Sponsored Links & Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns?

Sponsored links & pay per click advertising are different terms for the same thing. As the term pay per click implies, you pay each time someone clicks on one of your sponsored links (which are effectively adverts).

Why use this method of internet marketing?

This is the only way you can guarantee where you appear on the major search engines. You simply have to pay the right amount to achieve the position you want. Whilst you may aim to achieve the same thing by using SEO techniques (see page on SEO), this may take months or may never achieve the results you need, so you will use PPC to achieve results where SEO has failed or not yet got the visibility you need for certain keywords.

How does this compare to other forms of advertising?

This is the only kind of advertising that really produces 100% quantifiable results. If you take out an ad in a local paper or a magazine, you will never know how many people see the ad and how many of them have any interest in your products or services at that exact time. With PPC, you know exactly how many people have seen you ad each day and you know that they can only see it if they are ACTIVELY SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING YOU CAN PROVIDE THEM WITH.

Will PPC work for my business?

In the vast majority of cases, PPC will provide new business and more than justify the costs involved. There are exceptions and it is important that any new PPC campaign is researched properly first. For some businesses, PPC will simply not work for any of a number of reasons. What will it cost?

Whatever you want, is the short answer. You control budgets. As a rule of thumb, you will start with a small comfortable weekly budget (relative to the size of your business, it could be as low as £10) and if there is the demand for an increased spend and the campaign is producing results, you will want to increase budgets accordingly. Our fees will depend upon the size of your business and the amount of work required. We charge a one off fee to set up the campaign and a small monthly management charge.

How long does it take to see results?

A simple campaign can usually be up and running within a few working days and results are immediate. There may be exceptions for products or services where there is a lead time between the customer finding what they want and coming back to purchase, but for most businesses results will be immediate.

What maintenance and development is required?

Campaigns usually develop as we find out what works best for your business. You may add new products or services or remove others. There may be seasonal fluctuations, which affect your business and therefore your campaign. We will monitor performance and adjust your campaign as required, producing weekly reports and advice where needed on how to grow your online business. You'll know exactly how many potential new customers your campaign has produced each week and what the cost was.
